Course Objectives

Description:

  • Overcoming stage fright and nervousness
  • The power of self-talk and positive mindset
  • Practice through short impromptu speaking exercises

Skills Learned:

  • “Two Truths and a Lie” icebreaker
  • 1-minute self-introduction speeches

Description:

  • Elements of a strong presentation (Introduction, Body, Conclusion)
  • Using storytelling, facts, and examples
  • Creating logical flow with transitions

Skills Learned:

  • Group activity: Organize a scrambled story into a clear structure
  • Draft a 3-minute presentation outline

Description:

  • Voice modulation (tone, pace, pauses, emphasis)
  • Body language (posture, gestures, facial expressions)
  • Eye contact and presence on stage

Skills Learned:

  • Record-and-review exercise (students deliver short speech and watch playback)
  • Body language mirror practice

Description:

  • Asking questions and inviting participation
  • Reading and adapting to audience reactions
  • Using visuals and props effectively

Skills Learned:

  • “Audience Hot Seat” practice (students present, peers ask spontaneous questions)
  • Design one visual aid (slide/poster/prop) to support a mini-presentation

Description:

  • Active listening techniques
  • Giving and receiving constructive feedback
  • Building empathy and respect in communication

Skills Learned:

  • Peer feedback circles (after each presentation)
  • “Listening Challenge” – recall and summarize key points of peer speeches

Description:

Final Task: Deliver a 5–7 minute presentation on a chosen topic, incorporating structure, delivery, and engagement techniques.

Evaluation: Assessed through a rubric on content, delivery, body language, audience engagement, and confidence.
